Staurastrum teliferum is a small desmid with an acanthous cell wall. Desmids have the ability to move slowly excreting mucilage out of special pores. At the apical triangle shaped surface one can see the pores to excrete mucilage for movement. Depth of focus technique was used for the attempt.

Staurastrum teliferum ist eine kleine Zieralge mit einer stachligen Zellwand. Zieralgen haben die Fähigkeit, sich langsam durch die Ausscheidung von Schleim aus speziellen Poren zu bewegen. An der apikalen, dreieckigen Fläche sieht man die Poren für die Gallert-Auszuscheidung. Tiefenschärfe durch Multiebenenabbildung aus 65 Bildebenen, manuell gestapelt.
