Closterium venus

This Closterium species has two chloroplasts with two pyrenoids each, the nucleus at the center of the cell huddled against a chloroplast, and the characteristic fine grits in the vacuoles at both apexes and (a very special feature) the central vacuole.
 
Sample from sphagnum pond situated in the northern alpine region of Austria near Salzburg. Images were taken using Zeiss Universal with Olympus C7070 CCD camera.

Diese Closterium-Art besitzt zwei Chloroplasten mit jeweils zwei Pyrenoide, der Kern in der Mitte der Zelle ist dicht an einen der Chloroplasten angelagert. Charakteristische Merkmale sind die feinen Körnchen in den Vakuolen an beiden Spitzen und (im Besonderen) in der zentralen Vakuole.

Probe aus einem Moor in den nördlichen Kalkalpen von Österreich in der Nähe von Salzburg. Mikrotechnik: Zeiss Universal, Kamera: Olympus C7070.
